Sagola showcases its 2026 spray-gun innovations and process control solutions at CESVIMAP

Ávila, 26 March 2026. Sagola visited CESVIMAP to present the latest additions to its spray-gun range, designed for premium finish applications. Led by José Luis Cordero and Héctor Amado, the session combined a technical overview with live workshop demonstrations, assessing equipment performance under real working conditions.

The day opened with a theoretical presentation of Sagola’s latest developments, followed by hands-on trials using two-coat base systems and 2K clearcoats, focusing on atomization, spray pattern and final finish quality.

Sagola 4600 HEX: precision for clearcoats and single-stage finishes

The new Sagola 4600 HEX, part of the 4600 range, features an innovative pre-atomization system that conditions the paint before it meets compressed air. It incorporates the HEX System, with a star-shaped needle/nozzle geometry, combined with DFT air caps. This setup supports highly precise atomization at low to medium pressures, approximately 2–2.2 bar and up to 2.5 bar.

Sagola 3600 XPT: versatility for finishing and wet-on-wet processes

The Sagola 3600 XPT is designed for topcoats as well as primers and surfacers in wet-on-wet processes, with available fluid tips of 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4 mm. It features XTP air caps with DFT technology to optimize internal and external airflow for a uniform atomization. The gun also integrates the RC2 pressure gauge for accurate air pressure regulation.

Practical trials and process verification

During the practical session, applications were carried out using the CLEAR PRO air cap, designed for high-gloss clearcoats, and the BASE air cap for waterborne basecoats. Trials were performed with 1.2 and 1.2 XL fluid tips, carefully checking fan shape and size as well as spray patterns for each setup. Finish quality was also evaluated on several front hoods, delivering consistent, uniform and high-precision results.

To complement the application process, Elcometer instruments were used—Elcometer 311 gauge, Elcometer 214 digital thermometer, Elcometer 480 gloss meter and Elcometer 415 coating thickness gauge—to verify critical variables and ensure parameters such as temperature, gloss and coating thickness remained within optimal ranges, supporting repeatability and finish quality.
